PhD in Finance

The main objective of the PhD in Finance at Adolfo Ibáñez University is to train top-level researchers, capable of identifying, modeling and empirically testing phenomena related to financial decisions and equilibrium. The program, which is integrated by a large academic staff with teaching experience and high scientific productivity, offers students the opportunity to develop their research agenda in corporate finance, empirical finance and investment and asset valuation. The PhD in Finance is a pioneering program in Latin America, which began in 2015 and has one graduate and ten current students. The enrolled students are granted access to high- quality data and infrastructure, besides the possibility of applying for grants awarded by Chile Commission of Science and Technology (CONICYT). The curricular structure has an expected duration of 4 years, which includes a set of minimum courses, qualifying exams, an examination of doctoral candidacy, and a research period that ends with a thesis dissertation.
