Local Host

The 2018 BALAS conference is hosted by the School of Business at the University of San Diego and is being organized by Conference Co-Chairs Dr. Denise Dimon and Dr. Jaime Alonso Gómez.

The University of San Diego (USD) currently enrolls approximately 8,800 students and is recognized by U.S. News and World Report as one of the top universities in the USA, offering more than 60 bachelors, masters and doctoral degrees. The University is home to six Schools/Colleges, in Business, Law, Arts and Sciences, Nursing, Education, and Peace Studies.

Located on the Pacific Rim and just 22 miles from the Mexican border, the University of San Diego is optimally positioned for international activity. USD has been involved in international instruction, research, and service throughout the world for many years.

The School of Business at the University of San Diego, hosts of the 2018 BALAS Conference, employs approximately 85 full-time faculty and offers a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), a Bachelor of Arts (Economics), and a Bachelor of Accountancy. Several Majors of study are available within the BBA. Additionally the School offers nine graduate degrees: MBA (Full-time and Part-time Professional) and International MBA degrees as well as MS degrees in Accountancy and Financial Management, Taxation, Finance, Executive Leadership, Global Leadership, Supply Chain Management, and Real Estate. The business and accountancy programs are accredited by AACSB International.
